Ipas web style guide
Consistent styling is important to optimize the user’s experience. In addition to the out of the box modules from Divi Builder, our Divi Library has styles for modules, rows, and sections that can be added to any page.
Detailed instructions for how to edit the site are still in the ipas.org guide, found in our ipas.org project folder.

Text styling
- Page titles are automated as H1 so page content should always start with an H2.
- Always use consective heading styles (i.e. H5’s should only be applied if below an H4).
- Do not use a bold or italic style with heading styles. These typefaces already have a weight applied.

In the nearly two years since the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the constitutional right to abortion in the United States, the abortion landscape has become fragmented and increasingly polarized. In more than half of the 50 U.S. states, abortion is now completely banned, heavily restricted or under legal threat.

Why did you decide to do this research project?
Heron: As a bisexual agender parent of a tween, I am hyper-aware of the need for culturally competent sex ed.
Paige: I am always looking for ways to more intentionally work across movements, particularly repro and queer movements. This research project offered the opportunity to do just that while shining a light on communities that get overlooked in policy and advocacy spaces.

White supremacy in global health
“In the global health and human rights community, where I sit professionally, there’s been a lot of discussion in the last few years about decolonizing global health,” writes Ipas President and CEO Anu Kumar in a piece published by Think Global Health. “What we don’t talk about explicitly enough, however, is how white supremacy operates in this sector… The linkages between colonialism and patriarchy, between racial justice and gender justice are undeniable. They have—and still do—oppress Black and brown women.” Read her piece

Beyond the individual: Research shows abortion access has widespread benefits
Our research shows that when abortion is legal, it not only improves people’s own quality of life, but that of their families, communities and even countries.
The leaked draft from the U.S. Supreme Court signaling the court’s intent to overturn Roe v. Wade, the landmark decision that has guaranteed legal abortion in the United States for nearly 50 years, is a radical, rights-denying move.
In Mexico City this week, I got a renewed sense of what it means to make reproductive rights a reality.
How abortion rights advocates cleared the name of Manuela in a landmark case in El Salvador
Legalizing abortion does not guarantee that those who need this vital service can get it. For many people who want to end a pregnancy, their path is blocked by long travel times, stigma, threat of violence, or expensive fees for surgical methods. Abortion with pills allows them the freedom to take care of this acute need in their home or another secure space. That’s why the fight for self-managed abortion is a crucial aspect of reproductive justice.
In the beautiful Tororo District of Eastern Uganda, where Tororo Rock rises in the distance, you can find the Petta Health Centre III—an Ipas supported-facility where clients come from across the region to receive comprehensive and caring abortion services from an Ipas-trained provider.
For South African women and girls at risk of unsafe abortion, sexual abuse or HIV/AIDS, there was no better ally than Dr. Eddie Mhlanga, who recently passed away.
In the wake of tropical cyclone Ana, which has killed more than 80 people in Southern Africa, Ipas teams in Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia are preparing a coordinated response to ensure that reproductive health care, including access to postabortion care and contraception, remains available to women and girls affected by the storm.
Rina Pradhan is a youth leader working in rural communities of Jharkhand. After receiving training from the Ipas Development Foundation (IDF), she began conducting community and school-level meetings to provide information on accessing safe, timely sexual and reproductive health services.
