Engaging Communities to Improve Post Medication Abortion Family Planning Uptake
The PMAC project in Pakistan engaged medication abortion (MA) users/purchasers through community engagement sessions, with the aim of shifting participants knowledge, attitudes, and practices with post-MA contraception. This learning brief details the design of the community engagement sessions, the types of materials developed for the sessions, the results from the sessions, and Ipas’s key learnings from conducting gender-segregated sessions on post-MA family planning. The brief concludes with a call to action for any organizations working to improve maternal and family health in Pakistan.Â
