Director, Ipas Mozambique
Dr. Alice Nangura has 14 years of experience in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), gender equality and health systems strengthening. Throughout her career, she has led high-impact projects that expand access to safe abortion, contraceptive services and prevention and response to sexual and gender-based violence, working closely with government partners, parliamentarians, donors and civil society.
She previously served as Ipas Mozambique’s national program manager (2022) and health systems advisor (2019). In addition to her wide-ranging training activities with Ipas Mozambique, she made significant contributions to the revision of the National Professional Qualification Curriculum for Maternal and Child Health Nursing, integrating long-acting contraceptive methods and standards of care related to safe abortion.
Dr. Nangura is a dedicated SRHR advocate and social activist. She brings expertise in managing projects to expand SRHR access, foster multi-sectoral collaboration and enhance health systems to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based services.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in medicine from Eduardo Mondlane University and a postgraduate qualification in sustainable development project management. This academic combination reinforces her technical expertise and programmatic leadership in health and human rights.
