Ishita Chaudhry is an Ashoka Fellow, INK Fellow with over 20 years of experience rooted in working with women and girls from underserved and marginalized communities to advance feminist leadership. She is the Founder of The YP Foundation in India, which facilitates young people’s feminist and rights-based leadership on issues of health equity, gender justice, sexuality rights, and social justice, and served as Executive Director and Managing Trustee of the Board for 15 years. Chaudhry is a strategy consultant and advisor with governments, philanthropic institutions, women’s and environmental funds, technical agencies and civil society organizations.
She facilitates practices that focus on collective care; strengthening women’s rights, advancing gender and environmental justice, and improving access to education and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights. Chaudhry has worked with the Governments of India and Delhi on several advisory groups, including the United Nations’ High Level Task Force for Population and Development (ICPD) and UNESCO’s Global Advisory Group for Sexuality Education. She is the India Advisor to Echidna Giving, and has previously served as advisor to the Global Fund for Women, a member of the Independent Advisory Board for the Amplify Change Fund and is a founding member of the transnational alliance Realizing Sexual and Reproductive Justice (RESURJ).
