Erika Guevara Rosas is a human rights lawyer and well-known Latina feminist who currently serves as the Americas Director at Amnesty International. She has 25 years of experience in the fields of social and gender justice, human rights and philanthropy. Prior to working at Amnesty, she held leadership roles at other non-governmental organizations and international agencies, including the Global Fund for Women and the UN Refugee Agency. She also has served on the board of directors of several organizations, including the Association for Women´s Rights in Development (AWID) and the Women’s Human Rights Education Institute. She has a master’s degree in women’s studies, a post-graduate degree on migration and refugee studies from York University in Canada, and a bachelor of laws degree from Universidad de Londres in Mexico City.
