Dr. Ernest Nyamato leads the work of the Ipas Africa Alliance in Nairobi, Kenya. He has more than 18 years of experience in health systems management in Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria and other African countries. Dr. Nyamato joined Ipas in 2017 as deputy regional director of the Africa Alliance, leading programs supporting sexual and reproductive health and rights in Kenya and Uganda. He previously worked with IMA World Health in Nairobi, managing teams that provided direct support to 509 health facilities, and has also led health-related projects for organizations including Africare, Medecins Sans Frontieres and University Research Company. Dr. Nyamato has an MBChB degree from Moi University School of Medicine in Kenya, an MBA in strategic management from the Management College of South Africa, and a master’s degree in international public health from the University of Liverpool in England.
