Midwives: Tell us your story about abortion care

Ipas believes that young midwives are essential to the reproductive health and welfare of all women. We are seeking currently enrolled, recently graduated, or practicing midwives 24 years and younger to join our delegation at the 30th Triennial Congress of the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM) The Congress, entitled Midwives: Improving Women’s Health Globally, will be held in Prague, Czech Republic 1-5 June 2014. Midwives save women’s lives all around the world, every day. Midwives provide high-quality reproductive health care to women in their communities—they outnumber physicians, particularly in rural areas. Midwives reach women directly; they are the frontline in keeping women healthy through comprehensive reproductive health care, including abortion. Abortion care is designated by ICM as the seventh essential competency for basic midwifery practice.
