Sandeep Prasad, LLB, is currently Executive Director of Action Canada for Sexual Health and Rights, an Ottawa-based advocacy organization that focuses on increasing access to sexual and reproductive health information and services and to comprehensive sexuality education in Canada and globally. Prior to joining Action Canada in 2006, Mr. Prasad trained in law and was admitted to practice in Canada. He had experience in aspects of human resource and employment law before focusing on his principal interests in the area of human rights law applied to sexual and reproductive health and rights. He has led advocacy efforts in the UN Human Rights Council and has served on the High-Level Task Force for the International Conference on Population and Development, an important group of leaders and experts supporting the United Nations in follow-up to ICPD. He has collaborated with Ipas in multiple advocacy arenas and activities for a number of years and most recently served as an Expert in Residence on Human Rights at Ipas in June 2015; he also participated in the Ipas Airlie Center conference in March 2014 and participated in a training workshop on the human rights treaty monitoring bodies in Nairobi in October 2015.
