
Indira Basnett, MD, MPH, Project Director for Ipas Nepal, has 25 years of reproductive health-care experience. Before joining Ipas, Dr. Basnett worked for the Safe Motherhood Programme-Nepal for eight years as Programme Advisor and Human Resources Manager. From 1982 to 1998, she worked for Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Population, where her work focused on supporting family planning and child and maternal health-care programs. Additionally, Dr. Basnett served as a training-program manager in family planning, post-abortion care and in essential obstetric care. Dr. Basnett received her MD from Odessa Medical College in the Republic of Ukraine and her MPH at Mahidol University, Thailand.
