
Do Thi Hong Nga, BA, is Country Director of Ipas Vietnam. Ms. Do joined Ipas in September 2000 after six years as a Senior Program Officer at AusAID (Australian Embassy), which was the second-largest donor in Vietnam during the 1990s. At AusAID, Ms. Do oversaw the bilateral and multilateral social programs funded by AusAID for Vietnam through U.N. agencies and Australian contractors, including health-sector programs addressing malaria, dengue fever, iodine deficiency disorder, primary health care, expanded immunization and education-sector programs that worked on issues such as basic education for ethnic minorities. She also worked on the development, implementation, management and monitoring of a multitude of AusAID-funded programs, including the HIV/AIDS and poverty alleviation, community development, gender, domestic violence and environmental NGO programs. She brings nearly 20 years of experience working and consulting with the Vietnamese government, the United Nations Population Fund, and liaising with various bilateral and multilateral organizations to Ipas. Her skills include strategic planning; development of government-sanctioned information, education and communication (IEC) materials related to reproductive health; research; and project and budgetary management. Ms. Do has a bachelor’s degree in English from the Hanoi Foreign Languages Teachers’ Training College and also attended Delhi University for two years where she received an associate’s degree in information science.
