It is essential that women living with HIV/AIDS are able to exercise their rights to bear children and establish a family. This two-page fact sheet outlines the problems that HIV-positive women face in relation to achieving these rights, such as stigmatization and discrimination within the health-care sector, lack of access to measures to prevent perinatal transmission of HIV, and problems in preventing unwanted pregnancies.
