The MVA Calculator combines the John Snow, Inc. methodology with your facility’s caseload and resupply information to project your manual vacuum aspirator (MVA) needs. The MVA Calculator estimates active inventory (the number of MVA aspirators needed in the procedure room to meet needs on 95 percent of days) as well as your reserve needs (stock room inventory) and provides guidance on when to reorder, thereby reducing interruptions in patient care due to lack of MVA instruments.
