North Dakota legislation would require notice, ultrasound before abortions

Two proposals going through the North Dakota Legislature would provide new notice requirements for a woman seeking an abortion.

The House Human Services Committee endorsed a bill that requires abortion clinics to post a sign saying women cannot be forced by anyone to have an abortion.

North Dakota Catholic Conference director Christopher Dodson says it's common for women to feel coerced to end their pregnancies. He says the sign will help to remind women of their rights.
