A group of 60 NGOs said that Mexico's reproductive health record has "deteriorated" in a report presented to the United Nations Population Fund at its New York conference, which ends on Friday.
The report was submitted as an alternative to Mexico's official presentation, after the groups said that for the first time they had been shut out of the review process, which takes place every five years.
The feminist and reproductive-rights groups said that sexual and domestic violence have increased and yet remain non-priority issues for the government. Trafficking in minors, child pornography and pedophilia have also become more prevalent, they said.
