SPRINGFIELD - Thirty-five years have passed since the U.S. Supreme Court handed down its decision in Roe v. Wade to legalize abortion nationwide.
Since that landmark decision, the struggle between abortion rights and anti-abortion activists has only gotten more heated.
Supporters on both sides of the argument say the issue will continue to simmer in 2008. The spotlight is on the presidential race and an effort at the state level to finally write rules to enforce Illinois’ parental notification law.
